Members are the steady base a small nonprofit counts on. Your dues fund daily operations and the capital campaign, and they come with a year of good reasons to visit.
Admission and the occasional event do not cover what it costs to run a living-history site. Membership does the quiet work in between. It keeps the gates open, the grounds cared for, and the education programs running, and it gives the board a dependable base to plan around.
Membership is also the easiest way to make the fort a regular part of your year. You get in free, you hear about events first, and you become part of the group that decides what the next chapter looks like.
