About OFMP

The people behind the preservation

Old Fort Madison Preservation, Inc. is the nonprofit that preserves, rebuilds, and interprets the first United States military post on the Upper Mississippi River.

Old Fort Madison Preservation, Inc. is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) charity led by a volunteer board of directors, with committees that carry the work of the capital campaign, events, and the site itself. Gifts are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.

Our headquarters and gift shop are at 705 Avenue G, Fort Madison, IA 52627, open frequently for afternoon meetings and upon request while the fort site is closed for revitalization.
